What  is  Hypnotherapy ?

Hypnotherapy is an amazing tool that can be used in your counselling sessions.  It is a highly focused, yet deeply relaxed state of mind that allows the chattering “thinking” brain to slow down and get quiet so that the subconscious can step forward to access the root cause of many of your problems. It is in this relaxed state, sometimes called “trance", we are allowed to observe painful thoughts, feelings and memories that might have been hidden from our conscious mind.


Feelings and memories associated with trauma tend to hide in our unconscious memory and our bodies, even if we may not always remember the trauma experienced (on a conscious level) Once our subconscious discovers the root cause of the problem, hypnotherapy opens the way for deep exploration and understanding of the underlying causes of our physical and emotional issues. We can then relax and focus the mind so that we can openly and safely explore these painful, traumatic and repressed memories, identify and process subconscious blocks and negative beliefs that may be preventing us from achieving our dreams.

Hypnotherapy helps to resolve and release these emotions and memories, allowing freedom, clarity and lasting change. In this relaxed state, we are then able to observe our real-life situations, feelings and events in a different light. As we identify and process subconscious blocks and negative beliefs, we can understand what is preventing us from achieving our goals.


We can change our behaviours, find relief from chronic pain and cultivate new mindsets.  Hypnotherapy can help you access your goals and create long lasting change in all areas of your life


My style of hypnotherapy is gentle, attentive and nondirective.  I use many different relaxation techniques, metaphors, stories and symbolism in my sessions so that you can access the parts of your subconscious needed for deep healing and change.  I will support you as you discover the root of your problems with compassion and acceptance as you uncover and explore your inner world.
